What does Free Handyman do for Disabled Veterans?
Free Handyman helps disabled veterans with: Accessibility—installing wheelchair ramps, grab bars, safety rails, shower extensions. Painting – exteriors, interiors, single rooms, and patch jobs. Carpentry door repair/replacement, fence and gate repairs, broken lock sets and deck repairs. Yard Service—shrubs trimmed, sprinklers repaired, yard waste hauled Electrical—repair faulty fixtures, broken switches and doorbells. Plumbing—fix leaky faucets and faulty drains, toilet problems, garbage disposal replacement, and installation of shower heads and flow restriction. Security – installation of deadbolt locks, peepholes, security lighting and smoke detectors….and more
Our First location at Trent and Pines, is the hub where we coordinate our efforts to do things such as build wheelchair ramps, fix minor household items, and assist veterans with projects that may be difficult for them to do by themselves. We always need volunteers, donations, and support from the community.
The Veterans Thrift Store features:
An enormous amount of second hand clothing, shoes, bedding, kitchen supplies, toys, sporting goods, furniture, pictures, glassware, knickknacks, medical equipment, movies, books and much much more!

Thank you The PAPE’ Group for the kind donation of $500.00!
With the kindness of our community dozens of Veterans can be helped with this donation. Thank you so very much!
Liz Burch from KHQ Local News News
did a news story on us today.
The pictures below are of our Handymen demo-ing a Veterans double-wide that burned this summer. Dave had to choose between necessary prescriptions or his insurance. The kitchen caught fire and spread quickly and he had no insurance. We are now removing the home from the Mobile home park he had lived in for many years. He is homeless but he has many friends who let him stay with them. We were unfortunately unable to provide the immediate need but with pride and respect our men voted to donate their days to removing the debris. Thank you….When you see a vet, or active duty men or women give them a hug. They wake up and go to bed every night with the thought of our safety and our freedom
Two lovely ladies came in today and donated $500 to our Veterans.
They didn’t want recognition.
All the ladies wanted was to help out veterans. But we here at the org feel that the community should know when the community steps up to help our veterans. They are 4:20 Friendly, LLC Recreational Dispensary, 1515 Lewis in Spokane.
Thank you again!
Another ramp and another weatherization of many homes for our veterans.
Donations through PayPal or by mailing checks to Free Handyman for Disabled Veterans at 12213 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley WA 99206, or by stopping by our office.
We would love to see you! Hug a Vet today!
