Attention<\/strong> To Our Valued Customers, Donors, and Veterans.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to your support over the past 8 years our Organization has grown bigger, better, and the new location will allows us to help more Disabled Veterans in Need than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our plan is to be moved into the new location early to mid April,2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During that time the Wellesley store will still be OPEN FOR SALES and DONATION DROP-OFFS…as usual from 10am to 5pm 7 Days a Week. Wednesdays and Sundays still 1\/2 price Days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be leasing a spot here next to the building as our Remote Donation Drop off Trailer and will CONTINUE Accepting Donations At This Location after completing the move in early to mid April.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hours for the Donation Drop Off Trailer 10 to 5pm -7 Days a week and will be Staffed during those Hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are OPEN & HELPING VETERANS<\/em><\/h4>\n
As an essential local Community based Non Profit we remain open to provide services and supplies for Veterans in need. We are open to the public to accept donations during these trying times across the street from the VA Hospital, Spokane. Especially helpful is sealed package food and sanitary items. Donations & Volunteers are appreciated. If you come to the store, please wear a breathing mask and practice appropriate social distancing. Thank you in advance for your support getting the word out. We are all in this together.

What does Free Handyman do for Disabled Veterans?<\/b><\/h5>\n
Free Handyman helps disabled veterans with<\/span>: Accessibility\u2014installing wheelchair ramps, grab bars, safety rails, shower extensions. Painting – exteriors, interiors, single rooms, and patch jobs. Carpentry door repair\/replacement, fence and gate repairs, broken lock sets and deck repairs. Yard Service\u2014shrubs trimmed, sprinklers repaired, yard waste hauled Electrical\u2014repair faulty fixtures, broken switches and doorbells. Plumbing\u2014fix leaky faucets and faulty drains, toilet problems, garbage disposal replacement, and installation of shower heads and flow restriction. Security – installation of deadbolt locks, peepholes, security lighting and smoke detectors….and more<\/p>\n

Our First location at Trent and Pines, is the hub where we coordinate our efforts to do things such as build wheelchair ramps, fix minor household items, and assist veterans with projects that may be difficult for them to do by themselves. We always need volunteers, donations, and support from the community.<\/p>\n

An enormous<\/b> amount of second hand clothing, shoes, bedding, kitchen supplies, toys, sporting goods, furniture, pictures, glassware, knickknacks, medical equipment, movies, books and much much more!<\/p>\n

The pictures below are of our Handymen demo-ing a Veterans double-wide that burned this summer. Dave had to choose between necessary prescriptions or his insurance. The kitchen caught fire and spread quickly and he had no insurance. We are now removing the home from the Mobile home park he had lived in for many years. He is homeless but he has many friends who let him stay with them. We were unfortunately unable to provide the immediate need but with pride and respect our men voted to donate their days to removing the debris. Thank you….When you see a vet, or active duty men or women give them a hug. They wake up and go to bed every night with the thought of our safety and our freedom<\/span><\/p>\n

Two lovely ladies came in today and donated $500 to our Veterans.<\/b><\/p>\n
They didn’t want recognition.
All the ladies wanted was to help out veterans. But we here at the org feel that the community should know when the community steps up to help our veterans. They are 4:20 Friendly, LLC Recreational Dispensary, 1515 Lewis in Spokane<\/b>.<\/p>\n
